Head-on crash in öÏÓãÊÓÆµapp spawns list of charges for Kitchener woman
After crashing a stolen van at Wellington Street West and Imperial Road South, a suspect was charged with impaired driving, possession of stolen property, drug trafficking, and possession of false identification cards, police said.
A 29-year-old Kitchener woman faces a long list of driving and property damage charges after a morning crash in öÏÓãÊÓÆµapp.
öÏÓãÊÓÆµapp police said the crash occurred on Thursday, at approximately 7:30 a.m., when the driver of a van failed to negotiate a curve in the road at the intersection of Wellington Street West and Imperial Road South.
The vehicle crossed the centre line and hit another vehicle head-on.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police said the van was stolen and had licence plates from another stolen vehicle attached. Officers found several empty alcohol cans around the driver’s seat area, police said.

A further search of the van turned up suspected crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and Hydromorphone, a scale, and drug packaging, police said. Inside the driver’s bag, officers found a large number of identification and other cards in various names.
The woman was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, possessing stolen property over $5,000, possessing stolen property under $5,000, four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and 11 counts of possessing identity documents.

Due to ongoing medical care, she was released and is scheduled to appear in court June 24.
